Owl Room

The Owl Room provides care for children between the ages of two and a half to three and a half. It is a bright and welcoming room where your child can access a wide variety of activities have fun and make friends.

We provide a range of adult led and child led activities which encourages children to explore all areas of their development. Messy and creative activities are available daily to encourage children to explore using their senses, as well as a role play area and quiet book corner. Physical play is also valued both indoors and out, giving children chance to express themselves.

The outdoor areas both within the nursery grounds and within the local area have a wealth of resources and learning opportunities which help children to develop in a variety of ways, including, independence, exploration and investigation skills, risk taking and self-esteem, all of which support children to develop their skills for now and the future.

In Owl Room we learn lots of social skill, sharing, making friends and playing in small groups. We build and develop our early language skills through various activities, resources provided and with support from staff.

The staff within the room will work alongside you and your child through the transition from nappies to the toilet. Children who still require a sleep or rest time will be offered this within a quieter room.

When a child is aged between two and three years staff will review their progress in partnership with parents. Parents will be provided with a short written summary of their child’s development in the prime areas. Identifying strengths and any areas where the child’s progress is less than expected. Plans
or referrals to other professionals may be put in place if concerns arise.
