Spelling

Children have spelling sessions twice a week with activities matched to their ability. The scheme that is used is Readiwriter, which is an online, progressive teaching tool.

Below, you will find the key spellings for years 5 and 6 as well as those for the earlier years in 3 and 4.

Grammar KPIs

Each half term, we focus on a different skill during lesson starters and have explicit teaching of these during the half term. Throughout the half term, we will assess how the children are able to apply these skills within their writing.
