Ash Class- Year 1 Mrs Lucas
Theodore
Theo has made great progress with his reading this year and reads at home regularly, as well as completing Brainbuilder homework. He scored highly on the phonic screening check and contributes well in our guided reading sessions. Keep up the great attitude towards your reading Theo!
Fir Class- Year 1 Miss Smith
Lochlan
Lochlan has consistently read at least 3 times a week since the beginning of Year 1. His phonics knowledge is fantastic, and he has made excellent progress with his reading this year. Lochlan enjoys listening to different stories at the end of the day and he also actively takes part in our guided reading lessons. Keep up the brilliant effort Lochlan, well done!
Elm Class – Year 2 Miss Fazal
Ambika
Ambika has made fantastic progress in her reading this year. She can read more fluently and can recall on what she has read. Ambika has made excellent progress with answering retrieval questions and has started to make good inferences based on what she has read. She always engages in our guided reading lessons and enjoys all our different authors we read. Ambika has learnt how to make links between books and is beginning to be more confident in comparing different books.
Oak class – Year 2 Mrs Moss
Isabelle
Isabelle’s reading is phenomenal, her fluency and pace has improved so much this year and she now reads with expression and intonation. She only dropped 1 mark in her year two reading SATs paper which is an achievement in itself. Isabelle is able to answer a range of questions and is particularly good at making inferences. She is now independently making links between stories and authors she knows. Isabelle has such a love of reading and will choose chapter books to read during independent reading time. I’m so proud of you Isabelle.
Juniper Class – Year 3 Miss Mannion
Atreus
Atreus has shown great commitment to reading this year. He has consistently read at least 3 times a week since the beginning of Year 3. He is currently on his twelfth bookmark and is very close to completing it. He enjoys reading for pleasure and loves books. He is an excellent reader and is able to read aloud to the class confidently with great expression. Well done Atreus. Keep up the hard work!
Hazel Class – Year 3 Miss Keane
Samuel
Samuel is ALWAYS reading at home and logging his reads on Go Read. He has made fabulous progress with his phonics this year and I think part of this is because he is practising at home. Keep it up Samuel!
Alder Class – Year 4 Mr Nawaz
Amelia
Amelia has been reading a lot in class and she is always putting her hand up to read out loud. She always uses expression now and her confidence has grown so much.

Aspen class – Year 4 Miss Grant
Leighton-Lee
Leighton has a great attitude to reading. He is enthusiastic about books and authors and loves to carry on reading books by authors we started reading in class. He reads really regularly and chooses good books: ones that are challenging, interesting and engrossing. Because of his fantastic attitude, he has made excellent progress this year and he scored really well in our end-of-year assessments. Leighton is a model reader!
Maple Class – Year 5 – Mrs Unitt
Ereshwa
Ereshwa has a fantastic attitude towards her reading. She thoroughly enjoys our guided reading lessons and always gives 100%. Ereshwa is a pleasure to have in class and recently has become a free reader. Well done Ereshwa. Keep up the good work.
Hawthorns Class - Year 5 – Mr Dallow
Leo
Leo has really stepped up his reading at home and now reads most nights which is fantastic to see. He has said that he now enjoys reading and it is fantastic when he talks about what he has been reading. He is now showing a brilliant attitude to his reading and it is helping him in his writing lessons.
Beech class – Year 6 Mr Hales
Krystian
There has been a massive improvement in Krystian recording reading at home: he has been zooming through his bookmarks. I know that Krystian is really interested in factual information and he reads a lot about the World Wars. He has a fantastic range of general knowledge that really supports his learning across all his lessons – as well as supporting me with my knowledge. I am really pleased with this fabulous attitude Krystian. Well done.
Birch Class – Year 6 Mrs Webb
Ansharah
Ansharah has been a superstar in every way this year. She works extremely hard at her learning, and this includes reading at home. She is up there with the best and most consistent home readers in my class. The amount that she reads at home has definitely had an impact on her progress with her reading in school. She listens well in reading lessons and always tries to apply new learning. Well done, Ansharah.
Yew – Year 6 Mrs Jackson Mr Kelly Mr Rowe
Ella
Ella is a reading fanatic. She is already on her teal bookmark and consistently reads at home. In school, Ella reads fluently and with expression when reading aloud and her love of reading shows, and it is lovely to see and hear. This year, year 6 have read a variety of non-fiction and fiction texts and Ella has been engrossed with them all. Ella, your attitude to reading is inspiring and I hope you keep it up.
