Ash Class- Year 1 Miss Mannion

Tiana is a joy to have in Ash class. She comes into school with a smile on her face and a positive attitude to each day. She loves learning and has shown a great commitment to her writing and Maths. She has really impressed me recently as she has been contributing to class discussions and sharing her fabulous ideas. She is a bubbly and kind little girl and I am very proud of her! Well done Tiana, keep up the hard work.

Fir Class- Year 1 Miss Smith

Since joining Yorkswood just before Christmas, we have been so impressed by Paige’s progress in Year 1. Paige always shows enjoyment and enthusiasm towards her learning. She enjoys sharing her ideas during carpet time and she likes working independently to complete her work. Paige always reads regularly at home, and she enjoys completing the weekly Brain Builder homework that has been set. Paige is fantastic at phonics and can recall nearly all of the set 3 phonic sounds, which is brilliant! Keep up the amazing effort Paige, well done!

Yusuf really enjoys challenges and looks forward to completing them. Well done, Yusuf!

Louie is such a happy, lovely member of our class and it was easy to choose him as our star of the week this week for enjoyment. Louie loves to learn and always gives 100% to every task he is given, he works hard and supports his peers by sharing his ideas during class discussions too. It’s been lovely to see the progress Louie has made throughout the year so far and I look forward to seeing what he achieves going forward. Keep up the amazing efforts Louie, we are very proud of you.

Juniper Class – Year 3 Mrs Moss

It is such a pleasure to have Thomas in the Juniper class. Thomas has shown how hardworking he is this year and is truly enjoying all areas of the curriculum. Thomas participates in class and puts his hand up to answer questions and share his ideas. I have been particularly impressed with Thomas’s reading, he is working hard to improve his fluency and it has been lovely to see him developing his answers in guided reading. Thomas really enjoys maths and his arithmetic skills have improved a lot this year. Thomas shows such an interest in our wider curriculum subjects especially recently when we have been learning about the Egyptians. I have really enjoyed watching Thomas progress so well this year and I hope he continues to enjoy all his learning.

Hazel Class – Year 3 Miss Shanley

It is always a pleasure to teach Gracie and she enjoys every part of her day. She is a positive person with a great attitude for learning. Gracie always participates in class and makes everyone laugh, especially when we need it the most. I have really enjoyed watching Gracie progress this year and develop her way of thinking. Gracie always comes into school with a smile on her face which always starts my day off well. Well done, Gracie!

This week, it was so clear to see that Oliver enjoyed his art lesson. He was smiling all the way through and his concentration was fantastic. He worked so hard to create a modelled clay horse and add extra detail. His efforts were so clear to see and his final result is AMAZING! Well done Oli. Maybe one day you will have a career in sculpture making?

Carolina is a kind, caring and polite girl. She gives 100%% in everything she does. She comes through the door smiling every day, which is lovely to see. Carolina has been trying particularly hard in maths, and her hard work is paying off. She always offers to help both myself and others. I can see Carolina thoroughly enjoys being in school, and we thoroughly enjoy having her in our class.

Hawthorns Class - Year 5 – Mr Dallow

This week, year 5 travelled to Stratford-upon-Avon where we learnt all about Shakespeare and the history of Stratford. During this trip, we were given a plethora of information to learn with all the facts about buildings, plays, coats of arms etc. It was fantastic to see Kamali’s interest piqued on the subject as he was asking lots of questions and demonstrated his understanding of the learning as he was able to answer questions based on what we had learnt. I was even more impressed at his ability to relate classroom learning to the trip as he could tell the guide that Elizabethan windows were from the reign of Queen Elizabeth! It was fantastic to see Kamali enjoy the day out and have a smile all the way through as he saw learning come to life. Although, he did have a moan that his legs were tired after the long town walk! It is great to see you enjoying what you are learning Kamali!

Beech class – Year 6 Mr Hales

There has been a dramatic change in Poppy’s enjoyment at school and it is a real pleasure to see. We are seeing Poppy’s great character begin to shine and her work begin to bloom. Mrs Webb and myself have had many conversations about the massive improvements we have seen in all her work and her growing enthusiasm to work hard and take a more active role in her lessons. Not only is Poppy achieving higher, but there has been an outstanding improvement in her attendance this half term. A perfect percentage.

I am so pleased to see you enjoying school Poppy. Keep up all your endeavours.

Birch Class – Year 6 Mrs Webb

I have seen a huge improvement in Freddie’s demeanour in school over the last few weeks particularly in reading and writing lessons. He seems to be really enjoying the sessions and is constantly putting up his hand to contribute his thoughts and ideas. I believe that this is due to his growing confidence. It is lovely to see him full of ideas and working to the best of his ability to achieve in the best way that he can.  His reading scores on his test papers have really improved since the start of the year and I am extremely proud of his progress. I hope that you continue to enjoy your lessons Freddie, the hard work that you are putting in is paying off.
