It is such a pleasure to have Thomas in the Juniper class. Thomas has shown how hardworking he is this year and is truly enjoying all areas of the curriculum. Thomas participates in class and puts his hand up to answer questions and share his ideas. I have been particularly impressed with Thomas’s reading, he is working hard to improve his fluency and it has been lovely to see him developing his answers in guided reading. Thomas really enjoys maths and his arithmetic skills have improved a lot this year. Thomas shows such an interest in our wider curriculum subjects especially recently when we have been learning about the Egyptians. I have really enjoyed watching Thomas progress so well this year and I hope he continues to enjoy all his learning.

Hawthorns Class - Year 5 – Mr Dallow
Kamali
This week, year 5 travelled to Stratford-upon-Avon where we learnt all about Shakespeare and the history of Stratford. During this trip, we were given a plethora of information to learn with all the facts about buildings, plays, coats of arms etc. It was fantastic to see Kamali’s interest piqued on the subject as he was asking lots of questions and demonstrated his understanding of the learning as he was able to answer questions based on what we had learnt. I was even more impressed at his ability to relate classroom learning to the trip as he could tell the guide that Elizabethan windows were from the reign of Queen Elizabeth! It was fantastic to see Kamali enjoy the day out and have a smile all the way through as he saw learning come to life. Although, he did have a moan that his legs were tired after the long town walk! It is great to see you enjoying what you are learning Kamali!
Beech class – Year 6 Mr Hales
Poppy-Snow
There has been a dramatic change in Poppy’s enjoyment at school and it is a real pleasure to see. We are seeing Poppy’s great character begin to shine and her work begin to bloom. Mrs Webb and myself have had many conversations about the massive improvements we have seen in all her work and her growing enthusiasm to work hard and take a more active role in her lessons. Not only is Poppy achieving higher, but there has been an outstanding improvement in her attendance this half term. A perfect percentage.
I am so pleased to see you enjoying school Poppy. Keep up all your endeavours.
Birch Class – Year 6 Mrs Webb
Freddie
I have seen a huge improvement in Freddie’s demeanour in school over the last few weeks particularly in reading and writing lessons. He seems to be really enjoying the sessions and is constantly putting up his hand to contribute his thoughts and ideas. I believe that this is due to his growing confidence. It is lovely to see him full of ideas and working to the best of his ability to achieve in the best way that he can. His reading scores on his test papers have really improved since the start of the year and I am extremely proud of his progress. I hope that you continue to enjoy your lessons Freddie, the hard work that you are putting in is paying off.
