Star of the Week - 2nd October 2023

STAR OF THE WEEK

Theme ENJOYMENT

Ash Class- Year 1 Miss Mannion

Oxford

Oxford is a bright and bubbly member of Ash class. He comes into school every day with a smile on his face; eager to learn. He has a fantastic attitude towards learning and always tries his best. He has made so much progress in Maths and with his writing. He clearly enjoys school and has impressed me with how well he has settled into Year 1. Well done Oxford! Keep up the hard work.

Fir Class- Year 1 Miss Smith

Alfie

Alfie has been trying so hard in all lessons. He thoroughly enjoys our maths sessions, and he loves using different resources such as cubes or tens frames. Alfie also tries very hard in our guided reading lessons and he enjoyed thinking of a prediction for our new class story this week. Keep up the great effort Alfie, well done!

Elm Class – Year 2 Mrs Fazal

Lily

Lily always tries her best in all lessons. She always engages in all her lessons and has really enjoyed using concrete resources this week to support her maths skills. Lily always puts her hand up in lessons and has such a great attitude towards her learning. I am so proud. Well done, Lily!

Oak class – Year 2 Miss Stonehouse

Odin

Odin tries hard and enjoys all areas of his learning. He has particularly impressed me this week in maths, he has used his prior knowledge of tens and ones to support his understanding of addition and subtraction and can explain his working out very well. Whilst doing this Odin said ‘Miss I am having a blast’ showing just how much he is enjoying his learning. Keep it up Odin, you are a superstar!

Juniper Class – Year 3 Mrs Moss

Melody

Melody always comes into school and greets us with a smile on her face. Melody has been working so hard since the start of year 3 and has been enjoying all her lessons. Melody has loved learning about skeletons over the last few weeks and has shown a real interest. This week in Guided Reading we have been working on our inference skills and Melody has worked hard to discuss how characters will feel when certain events happen. I am very proud of you Melody, keep it up.

Hazel Class – Year 3 Miss Shanley

TJ

TJ always comes into class with a smile on his face and with lots of energy. TJ works extremely hard in lessons and is proud to show us his hard work. Tj particularly enjoys anything that is ICT based and often helps Miss Shanley to set up her board, so it is ready for the day. TJ is a pleasure to teach and has a great attitude in class.

Alder Class – Year 4 Miss Keane (missing consent)

Leighton

Leighton has had a fabulous start to Year 4 and he has started to enjoy being in class with his friends more. He likes to join in with our learning and certainly shows that he enjoys maths as he is willing to come up and show his working out on the board. Leighton enjoys working with others now and it is lovely to see him taking a more active role. Well done Leighton.

Aspen class – Year 4 Miss Grant

Lainey

Lainey’s cheerful attitude and willingness to get involved shine through from the moment she steps into the classroom.  She fully engages in every lesson and is willing to have a go at everything. She has a “can do” attitude which is so encouraging to everyone around her. She is an absolutely wonderful member of our class team and a pleasure to teach.

Beech class – Year 6 Mr Hales

Eric

What an absolute delight it is to teach Eric. He comes to school with a beaming smile and a positive manner. He throws himself into tasks and will give everything a go no matter how tricky it may be. Eric has a great attitude with his friends and is always having fun. It is lovely to see someone enjoy their time at school so much. This positivity and enjoyment really has a good impact on his work. Well done Eric.

Birch Class – Year 6 Mrs Webb

Jack

Jack is a wonderful lad and always has something interesting to say to brighten up my day.  He really listens well in lessons because he has a keen interest in all subjects. I enjoy his sense of humour and overall, he is a pleasure to teach.  However, this isn’t the only reason that I have chosen Jack for our Star of the Week theme this week.  Jack has really impressed me in PE.  He hasn’t always found it easy to take part in gymnastics and I have been especially proud of his efforts in this area. Not only has he fully participated in all activities, including using the springboard, but he is doing it all with a huge smile on his face. It is wonderful to see him enjoying something that in the past has caused him some anxiety.  I really hope that this enjoyment continues. Well done Jack.
