Ellie

Ellie has had an excellent first half term in year 2 and has continued to make progress over the last few weeks too. Ellie tries her hardest in all areas across the curriculum and she makes sure that she keeps going until she gets it which is so lovely to see. She is so enthusiastic, especially in maths and it is lovely to see her applying new skills independently. Keep it up Ellie!

Juniper Class – Year 3 Mrs Moss

Isabella

I have been so proud of Isabella so far this year, she has settled into year 3 brilliantly and is making excellent progress across all areas of the curriculum. Isabella has particularly impressed me with her writing as she has been taking on feedback and implementing it in her work. She can use a wide range of grammar skills and her writing is interesting to the reader. Isabella has also been working particularly hard on her 4 x table this week in maths. Isabella tries her absolute best in all lessons and is building her confidence more and more each week which is so lovely to see. Isabella is participating in class discussions and putting her hand up to answer questions.

Hazel Class – Year 3 Miss Shanley

Lola

Lola has been working so hard this week, especially in math. She has been practicing her times tables and this has made a huge improvement in her work and participation in class. Lola is kind to other students and makes sure to include others.

Alder Class – Year 4 Miss Keane

Claudiu

Since joining Yorkswood in September, Claudiu has made great progress and has achieved so much already. He has passed his 10’s and 11 club and is now working hard to try and achieve his 22 club. Claudiu works hard in all lessons and you can always see him persevering, trying his best and improving his work. Keep it up Claudiu.

Aspen class – Year 4 Miss Grant

Zainab

Zainab has shown us all how hard work practice leads directly to achievement. She has put in lots of effort in school but also at home to learning her times tables and has massively improved her soundcheck scores on TT rockstars and passed her 99 club this week. A super achievement Zainab!

Maple Class – Year 5 – Mrs Unitt

Mia

Mia is just amazing all around! She shows determination and dedication in everything that she does. She constantly gives 100% in all lessons and produces the most amazing work in her book. Mia listens well and pays attention at the start of all lessons – which enables her to hit her Success Criteria and achieve Success! Mia you are amazing! Keep it up!

Hawthorns Class - Year 5 – Mr Dallow

Evelyn

Eveleyn strives to achieve the success criteria in every PE lesson we do. She shows exemplary resilience and effort to overcome difficulties in order to develop her skills in PE and this is extremely admirable. Evelyn has demonstrated how using a combination of focus and commitment can lead to success despite the difficulty of the challenge. Its is fantastic to see Evelyn’s progress in PE and how she finishes every lesson with a smile on her face after achieving within the lesson. We are very proud of you Evelyn.

Beech class – Year 6 Mr Hales

Jaiden

Jaiden is such a wonderful child to have in the classroom. He is such a conscientious and dedicated worker – always striving to do his very best. It is therefore not a surprise to find him being star of the week for achievement. His work in all subjects has gone from strength to strength and it was a delight to see his beaming face as I spoke about his achievements at parent’s evening. He should feel very proud. I am particularly pleased with Jaiden’s writing. He listens carefully in lessons and isn’t afraid to give new learning a go. He doesn’t worry about if he makes a mistake or is not sure, he will ask purposeful questions to help his understanding, so not only do I see the development of his writing in English but in every piece of written work he does. Well done, Jaiden.

Birch Class – Year 6 Mrs Webb

Chance

I am really proud of Chance and his achievements so far this year. He is always enthusiastic to learn in all lessons and regularly contributes to class discussions. In literacy lessons, Chance listens well and is trying really hard to include grammar skills in his writing which has improved his use of punctuation dramatically. The quality of his handwriting has also improved and he is, quite rightly, very proud of himself. With Mr Hales, he is also working hard in maths and reading and is already working comfortably at the Year 6 level. I am really looking forward to seeing how Chance can progress as the year develops and with the wonderful attitude that he is showing right now, I am sure that he will continue to do well. Keep it up; I am very proud of you.
